Perfectionism is often a positive characteristic, it helps you improve your performance and get the best out of yourself. Perfectionism becomes unhealthy and bothersome if you have too high expectations of yourself and set unrealistically high goals that you cannot achieve. You often disappoint yourself because of this and it damages your self-confidence. Perfectionism often leads to dissatisfaction and stress.
